Daniel Westberg

President & CEO

Daniel Westberg has a long history within the SKF Group, where he has held management positions for over 15 years ranging from General Manager of SKF Revolve in Canada, VP at SKF Magnetic in France to Managing Director for Manufacturing units within the SKF Group in Sweden, US and India. During the past five years, Daniel has managed the SKF Linear and Actuation Technology business unit which was divested in 2018 and transitioned into Ewellix where he now holds the position of President and CEO. Daniel possesses a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.

Erik Backman


Erik Backman has an extensive financial background spanned over many years, ending up in his previous position as CFO for Flexlink. Erik has over 20 years’ experience within both Finance and Controlling functions for Flexlink, Swisslog and Shell, holding regional positions for the Nordic and European regions as well as the Americas where he was based in Newport News, Virginia for three years. Erik holds a Master of Science from Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law, Sweden.

Jean-Michel Poloni


Jean-Michel Poloni has a solid background with over 20 years’ experience in Management and Sales within the SKF Group. He has held positions as Business Development in Mechatronics, Industrial Distribution Manager EMEA, Director of Sales in Machine Tool & Medical Business. He was Director of Sales in the Linear and Actuation Technology business unit. Jean-Michel holds an MBA from Sorbonne Business School at IAE Paris, France.

Jean-Michel Poloni is located in France (Paris) and was born in 1966.

Victor Jaecklin


Victor Jaecklin has a solid background in managing engineering-related businesses with close to 25 years’ experience, most recently as the Managing Director of SKF Actuation Systems, Switzerland. He has also held positions as Head of Product Engineering at Zulke, and Head of R&D at Oerlikon. Victor holds a PhD in Microtechnology from the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland and an MBA from Graduate School of Business Administration, Zurich.

Victor Jaecklin is located in Switzerland (Liestal) and was born in 1964.

Jessica Raab

Group Director HR & Corporate Communication

Jessica Raab has close to 20 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources. She was Head of HR for SKF’s Motion Technologies business unit which became Ewellix when divested. Before joining us, Jessica held various positions such as Talent Manager at Linde Gas in Munich as well as HR Manager for global companies like Cryo AB and Nobel Biocare. Her work experience also includes Quintiles in Mannheim and Autodesk in Rotterdam. Jessica holds a bachelor’s degree from Karlstad University, Sweden.

Jessica Raab is located in Sweden (Gothenburg) and was born in 1976.

Patrik Mattsson

Group Director IT

Patrik Mattson has a solid background within Information Technology serving as CIO at RUAG Space before joining Ewellix. During his 15 years of experience, Patrik has held various management positions within Project Management, Business and System development within the SKF Group, Stena Metal and Kentor. Patrik was educated at Stockholm University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s in computer and Systems Sciences.

Emma Lager

Group Director SHEQ (Safety Health Environment Quality)

Emma Lager has more than 20 years’ experience in the areas of Quality, Environment and Occupational Health & Safety Management. Most recently as SHEQ Manager at Ewellix Sweden since 2019. Emma had a long career at the Volvo Group where she held various quality and environmental related positions at Volvo Technology and the Volvo Group Headquarters. Her experience also includes being Head of Quality & Environment at the snacks plant Estrella and acting as Lead Supplier Auditor & Director HACCP (food safety) at Kraft Foods. Emma holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.

Emma Lager is located in Sweden (Gothenburg) and was born in 1974.

Marcel Soltermann

Group Director Product Development

Marcel Soltermann is an innovator with 25 years’ experience in the field of mechatronic product- and business development. He has a long career in the SKF Group where he held positions as Manager SKF Actuator USA, Product Manager Actuators, Business Development Manager and Product Development Manager. Marcel Soltermann holds a Batchelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Management of Innovation from EPFL & UNIL in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Nicolas Robardet

Group Director Purchasing

Nicolas Robardet is a senior Sourcing & Supply Chain Director with over 30 years’ experience in the field of Strategic Sourcing & Supply chain across the world. He has a background from large companies such as Invacare, Alstom Power and Groupe SEB. Most recently he comes from the consulting world where he supported companies as a Senior Advisor and consultant, leading change management projects in sourcing, procurement, and logistics. Nicolas holds a Bachelor degree in International Trade from Y-Schools/Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion (ECG) in Troyes, France.

Nicolas Robardet is located in Switzerland (Liestal) and was born in 1964.

Magnus Pettersson

Group Director Demand Chain & Logistics

Magnus Pettersson has over 25 years’ experience in the fields of Sales and Demand & Supply. Before joining SKF Motion Technologies which became Ewellix when divested, he was Head of European Purchasing at Swisslog. He held various management positions at both Swisslog and ABB where he was based in Beijing, China and Taipei, Taiwan. Magnus holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Högbergsskolan, Sweden.

Magnus Pettersson is located in Sweden (Gothenburg) and was born in 1967.

Thomas Lotz

Sector Sales Director – Mobile Machinery

Thomas Lotz has a strong background in R&D and commercialization of medical devices, business development and product management. He has recently managed the global business development activities at SKF Motion Technologies Switzerland. Thomas holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from KIT, Germany.

Thomas Lotz is located in Switzerland (Liestal) and was born in 1976.

Laurent Sanchez

Sector Sales Director – Automotive

Laurent Sanchez has held several positions within the field of engineering and business development across Asia (based in Singapore) and Europe (France). Laurent has over 15 years of experience in the industrial market sector, working with large OEM’s in the fields of Medical, Automation, Mobile Machinery and power transmission distributors. In 2019 Laurent strengthened his engineering academic background (Engineer INSA Lyon) with an Executive MBA from EM Lyon with a speciality in corporate strategy and governance.

Laurent Sanchez is currently located in France (Chambery) and was born in 1977.

Tom Kearney

Sector Sales Director – Medical

Tom Kearny has a strong background as a Senior Sales Executive in the medical industry, driving adoption of new technologies in market segments like medical devices, interventional, surgical robotics, imaging, and digital healthcare IT. He recently worked as a Commercialisation Consultant for a medical robotics company. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Business from the LibertyUniversity in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Tom Kearney is located in the USA (Atlanta, Georgia) and was born in 1963.
